Expeditionary Film & Audio Production

I am a creative and cultural freelance producer with an anthropological background based out of San Jose, California. I am passionate in capturing the most authentic experience possible while abiding to local customs and traditions.

I have years of experience working in Silicon Valley within the multimedia industry, including filming on-location various lectures, interviews, podcasts, action shots, astrophotography time-lapses, ‘run and gun’ shots, and B-Roll. I specialize in operational roles such as on-location production sound mixing (audio recording), camera equipment and lighting (grip). I oversee various aspects of both pre-filming and post-production to ensure the best quality story is being presented.

Travel and expeditions:

From the middle of the Amazon to the streets of Paris, I have experience traveling abroad and planning for expeditionary projects into remote locations. Safety being my number one priority, I ensure everything is accounted for before venturing into potentially dangerous locations. Furthermore, I ensure to hire and work with local support crews and experts in order to cover every possible angle.

Research:

Through thorough research I bring to life every aspect and emphasize every detail possible regarding the people and location of a given area. From cultural mythologies and traditions to potential environmental impacts.

Cultural Sensitivity:

I work closely with the indigenous people of an area to make sure their story is heard and expressed through film. Accuracy of traditional practices, for example, is something that needs to be preserved without gimmicks.

Gear:

Based on the production value I rent from various local film gear providers and can also provide a two-camera ‘on-location’ film shoot (camera and audio field recorder).

Location Scouting:

Prior to shooting I will go out and explore various possible locations to ensure the most spectacular and interesting areas that will contribute to the overall storytelling. Depending on the location, along with location manager, I will help run point with permits and make sure proper gear is determined for the various locations.

Logistical expertise:

I will work closely with the cinematographer/DP to establish specific camera gear, lenses, lighting, etc needed for the shoot. Likewise, I will coordinate with service providers regarding needed resources and transportation of gear as needed.
